Stayed one night at Villa Dia to experience Amman before our flight out of Jordan. To be clear, it isn't a typical hotel with a front desk and amenities; when you arrive you pick up the phone to call the clerk and he comes to check you in. His English was limited so we didn't get much info from him, but he gave us a paper with most of what we needed (wifi, check out times, cost). I really liked our room, which was clean, comfortable, and very spacious with a small outdoor balcony. I found the sleek, modern design of the room quite appealing for a simple budget guest house, which often tend to be old fashioned. The location is great, about a 10 minute walk from Rainbow Street, the place to be in the center of Amman. There is a grocery store only a couple blocks away, and plenty of cafes, restaurants, bars, shopping, on Rainbow St.
My only problem was the air freshener in the room, which we couldn't seem to control. It was actually making me nauseous in the evening when we spent time in the room. I tend to be sensitive to strong smells, but it was rather overwhelming. I had to leave the balcony door open for a couple hours so that I didn't feel sick. Still give the place 5 stars but that would be my comment to the management.
