Hotels in Acapulco

Known as the "Pearl of the Pacific," Acapulco, Mexico, has soaring cliffs, intimate coves and inviting beaches nestled along the coast. At the La Quebrada Beach, visitors can watch divers who have been performing for the public since 1934. The last show is replete with torch-bearing divers descending more than 100 feet into the ocean below. The Isla de la Roqueta is an island that is a 20-minute boat ride from Acapulco. Many of the vessels that make the trip are outfitted with glass bottoms and pass by the underwater statue of the Virgin of Guadalupe. The beach at Isla de la Roqueta has snorkeling equipment and kayak rentals. Originally built in 1616 and rebuilt in 1783, the Fuerte de San Diego has exhibits that detail Acapulco's history.
